The house

Welcome to this holiday home, Maison Blanche… an authentic, restored house in the Limousin region. The house comfortably accommodates 6 people, but can easily host up to 8 guests. The ground floor is divided into two separate areas that are connected. Both the left and right sections feature a kitchen. The living room is centrally located and provides access to the garden and a lounge area on the right-hand side with a fireplace. Both sections have a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. There is a TV in both the lounge and the living room, functioning with satellite and Chromecast.

The swimming pool (5 m x 10 m / 1.25 m deep) is located near N°10 and is shared with guests from the mini campsite. It is approximately 200 metres from the house and is accessible from May to October.

Surroundings

Holiday home Vallée dorée is located in a small hamlet called “Cros”, part of the village “Dompierre-les-Eglises”. Cros consists of about twenty houses where time has stood still. It is a quaint little hamlet amidst vast, hilly countryside, forests and lakes. In fact, the Haute Vienne is a region that is very green with many rural villages. It is also a quiet region where tourism has not yet caught on and where you can enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful nature. Haute-Vienne is one of the three departments of Limousin, located next to Creuse and Corrèze. Cros is in the middle of three large natural parks. To the south are the parks regional Perigord- Limousin and Millevache en Limousin. To the north, Cros borders the park naturel regional de la Brenne.

The area is known as the green heart of France! There is still plenty of space and tranquillity, and even complete silence can still be found here. It also boasts an important heritage of architecture and art, visible in the many Romanesque religious buildings, fortified castles, medieval towns, and the renowned tradition of porcelain and leather craftsmanship.

Restaurants, food & wine

In " Le Dorat" a small village about 17 km from Cros, the delicious "Marches de Producteurs" are organised every Thursday during the summer months (July and August). Local farmers and traders in meat, dairy and vegetables display their best wares. These are displayed in various stalls on the market square. You can buy limousin beef and local vegetables at very democratic prices. And if you don't feel like preparing everything at home...they will prepare it for you! There are several BBQ,s where you can have your meat roasted. Large tables are set, plates and cutlery are provided...conviviality prevails!

Activities

Of course, this region lends itself enormously to organising extensive small and/or large walks and cycling routes. There are various routes that take you to idyllic, nostalgic and romantic places. Staff maps and various walking and cycling maps are available from us free of charge.
Swimming and other water sports:
For an enjoyable family outing, visit the Lac Saint Pardoux lake. The lake covers 300 hectares and is hidden among the woods. From Vallée Dorée it is just under twenty minutes' drive. Lots of activities are organised for young and old. Apart from the various walking routes, you can also go water-skiing, swimming, fishing, canoeing, sailing, horse riding, archery, tennis, mountain biking...there is a beach volleyball field and a real adventure park. For the little ones, there is a giant bouncy castle park.

Jacuzzi: 80.00 euros/week will not be rented per day!
Dogs are welcome on the property at 15.00 euros per stay per dog.
If central heating is used during colder periods, it is charged at cost price (heating oil: prices 2024: 10.95 euros per day).
An additional furnished tent can be rented at 250 euros per week. Please indicate how many extra people (if more than 18) will be added! The number of people will be charged at 25 euros per night per person.
Wine tasting with adapted cheeses and fine meats: 20 euros PP
Table d'hôte: adults 25.00 euros PP/ children up to 8 years 15.00 euros PP starter, main course, dessert /excluding drinks.
For bookings months: March / October / March / April, the swimming pool is open, but it will only be heated upon request at an additional cost of €16.00 per day.
The pool is closed for January, February, and December.
